Jobseeker’s Pay-Related Benefit is a new unemployment payment in Ireland that started on 31st March 2025. It replaces Jobseeker’s Benefit for those who are fully unemployed and whose last day of employment was on or after 28th March 2025. The payment amount is linked to your previous earnings and is available for those who have paid enough PRSI contributions. To qualify, you must: Be fully unemployed on or after 31st March 2025. Be under 66 years old (or under 70 if born after 1st January 1958 and not claiming a State Pension). Be capable of and available for full-time work. Be actively seeking work. Have sufficient PRSI contributions at class A, H, or P. You should apply within six weeks of losing your job to avoid affecting your entitlement. The rate of Jobseeker's Pay-Related Benefit is based on and linked to your previous earnings and is available for those who have paid enough PRSI contributions. We have created this calculator below to assist PAYE workers with the rate payable for their particular circumstances. We have a step by step guide on how to use this calculator and where to locate the data needed to complete it.
